The Position

This position supports the Ethics & Compliance (E&C) strategy by working with the Director, E&C Program Strategy & Operations in creating and managing communications within the department and the broader enterprise. It involves E&C operations, strategy development, technology, business planning, and key processes for Novo Nordisk Inc. (NNI) and other North American affiliates.

 

Relationships

Reports to the Director, E&C Strategy & Operations. Works closely with the E&C Leadership team, NNI Legal team, NNI and Global Communication Team, Global Business Services (GBS) teams in Bangalore and Mexico, E&C colleagues across Novo Nordisk globally, and leaders across lines of business. Supports North American affiliates, including Novo Nordisk Canada and Novo Nordisk US-based research affiliates. External relationships include vendors and consultants as well as developing and maintaining relationships with the broader ethics and compliance network within the industry.

 

Essential Functions

  • Supports Department Strategy & Operations projects within E&C and across NAO, aligned to executing E&C strategy and initiatives, and responding to risk
  • Develops communications plans to disseminate information to E&C Team, the US entity, and Globally
  • Drafts communications for the CECO, the Leadership Team, and others for distribution through email, Yammer and other platforms
  • Provide guidance to E&C Teams on effective communication and associated stakeholder management
  • Supports the E&C Team in raising awareness of the Ethics & Compliance program while fostering accountability for ethics & compliance throughout the organization
  • Manages Ethics Week at NNI in close collaboration with E&C and Global stakeholders
  • Supports presentation preparation through developing slides and drafting memos in collaboration with Leadership Team members and others
  • Encourages continuous improvement and suggests enhancements to the E&C program based on regulations, industry trends, and best practices
  • Champions a proactive approach to ethics and compliance, focusing on partnership, risk mitigation, and prevention
  • Informs management of ethics & compliance issues in a timely manner, while encouraging the flow of information between colleagues and lines of business
  • Provides additional support to other departmental functions, as needed

 

Physical Requirements

0-10% overnight travel required.

 

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor 's degree from an accredited institution required, additional education/certification within the compliance and healthcare related fields is preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of communications experience within regulated industries
  • A minimum of 6 years combined pharmaceutical, legal, regulatory, and compliance experience required OR a minimum of 3 years’ experience required if accompanied by an advanced degree or certification (e.g. MBA, JD, PMP)
  • High standard of ethics and integrity
  • Ability to project manage multiple projects to completion meeting internal and external deliverables
  • Display strong communication and organization skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective strategic relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders
  • The ability to work proactively and independently with minimal supervision
